Our golden process
1. CO-LEARN
2. CO-DESIGN
3. CO-CONSTRUCT &
CO-PLANT
4. CO-MAINTAIN
The process
Co-learn + co-design + co-construct + co-maintain = community play spaces
We (co-) learn
We give climate and inclusive lessons and teach about the theory of play, to both teachers and children! With these lessons, they all learn about climate change and how their own schoolyard is can have such a huge impact on it. More than that, we empower them with ideas and inspiration to change the space children play.
We (co-) design
Places to play and meet, to learn and wonder, to withdraw and grow. At the core of Space for Play is my unique vision, that combines both architecture and pedagogy into each design. We do not fear integrating 21st century challenges within our designs.
We (co-) construct & plant
Children are part of the whole process! We co-construct with them, pulling out tiles, bricklaying, painting or decorating, planting trees shrubs or plants. “Teach me and I will forget, show me and I might remember, involve me and I will understand!” It is our duty to provide the future generation with tools how to take climate action, by creating a greener world. Combining climate action with play.
We (co-) maintain
If the green surrounding is not integrated within their teaching program, children tend to ignore or even demolish the greenery. Each (pre-)school with a green schoolyard we designed, gets a set of NATURE-HEROES program! With cool caps, a treasure box and a poster in class. Each week 2 other nature heroes will search, wonder, share, care and protect nature.
